I would say that self-help is not possible, and it's a scam. We are an interdependent society of humans, and anything we do depends on other people. Isn't that part of Christianity, and the 12 Steps, that we are powerless to do anything on our own?

"Self-help" is peak individualism and consumerism. It's a Ponzi scheme: if you got good results from reading this book, you too could be the next guru to publish!
