It gets better, Chrome is caching YT stream, but if you ever decide to rewind to already watched part it will forcefully re-fetch data from the server.

All chrome does is burn thru your SSD write cycles.

Additionally YT token DRM makes the resources change URL every time you refresh (encrypted key) and on top of that force expire in ~5 hours.

I just tried random 1080@60 video and was able to rewind without refetching about 4 minutes back, more than ~6 minutes resulted in resetting progres bar (thin line showing already downloaded part) and re-downloading once again despite burning 100MB of it on my SSD for no apparent reason. I dont have to mention ~10GB of free ram just sitting there doing nothing.
