Same here. I use Firefox for everything, and uninstall all the junk via adb. Also low power mode not only for battery efficiency, but to prevent most background services from running.

My guess is to keep the US economy going.

You mean the immediate personal macroeconomy of a very specific subset of the US political class?

Yes unfortunately that’s how the economy works

For the keyboard I recently discovered HeliBoard. You have to add a gboard's library to enable glide typing, but so far I really like it.

Woah. I've been looking around for months. That's huge. Thanks.

The concerted effort to hide his insane rants is unforgivable.

I'm convinced all of these ghouls will do whatever they can to buy/cheat/steal these elections. Because if they don't, they all face potential prison time. And Bannon's not looking forward to going back.

Musk is a slimey salesman. His job as CEO is to hype bullshit.

That was from when Macs ran Intel and could easily dual boot Windows. I still have an old Mac Book Pro with Windows 10 on it. Updates only stopped recently because Win10 is at end of life. I've been meaning to blow everything out and install Linux.

I am giving props to Microsoft because it did wrangle an industry together to standardize where one company makes the operating system and other companies make the hardware yet you can still upgrade your operating system even without the support of the vendor.

Yet Google can’t seem to make that happen.

because google doesnt deliver the full OS, it delivers a bunch of stuff that the vendors then bastardize and use with insane drivers and crap from SoC vendors.

they should NEVER accept any of the binary only crap drivers, they should demand code be upstream or wont buy. But they dont care. Google doesnt care.

I had a phone with a Bixby button too. I remapped it to other apps, and never used Bixby. I wish phones had more hardware buttons again.

The one I had didn't have any obvious way to remap the button. Across several years of ownership, I probably spent a total of an hour looking for such a capability. Certainly more than I did investigating what "Bixby" is.

Now I have a ulefone, a budget brand with no particular name recognition. It has a button in the same place, with an easy way to map it. And it cost a quarter of the Samsung. shrug

GoodLock is one of the best apps on Android. I wish it were part of the OS and available on every device.

Animation is also called the illusion of life [1], which when done properly always looks better than recreating real life.

But I also get it. It's easy to fall in love with the technology.
