I would love to see a response to this comment from the OP.

Same. OP will likely ignore it though.

I think any time a new material starts to meaningfully accumulate in our bodies, our food sources, our oceans, etc, we should at least go with caution. The default stance should be caution, not fearlessness.

>fearlessness

More like flippancy, even hubris.

The approach you advocate is essentially the EU's precautionary principle. [1]

Totally aligned.

> they attract birds that that poo on vehicles

The city can simply introduce lizards to manage to bird issue.

But then what are they going to do with the Gorillas? Are winters in Korea that cold?

Nighttime temps of -10c, I think we've got this locked! If not, send the saja boys after them.

Yes, but then who hunts the Huntr/x?

They're definitely highly regarded.

Veiled slurs aren't funny and don't contribute anything to HN.

Nor do bots and one track minded posters.

I'd argue that it depends on what the track is. But yeah, bots and slurs: bad. Let's stop using them.

Eh. The actors that use these features use a shotgun approach. The result is you see a bunch of dead comments and assume the system is working as intended, while a couple of the less inconspicuous comments persist. This happens frequently on specific topics.

Because most are just no where near as good and effective at ruining a kid's mind as meta. If others were as good as meta at destroying whole generations of cognitive development, they'd probably also be liable.

It's called misplaced confidence and it isn't exclusive to software engineers. Doctors, engineers, presidents... The list goes on.

Everything consumer facing from meta is like a toxic waste hazard. It makes me sad seeing people stuck on those platforms.

> XAI

Kind of insulting to lump google in with XAI? Like, is anyone even using XAI other than backwater government agencies?

> Like, is anyone even using XAI other than backwater government agencies?

xAI doesn't have "content moderation" around adult content, so that usage is quite popular.

That is a lot of people ending up on a list... Gross.

Yep I use Grok and Claude mainly, Grok is integrated into x.com and Teslas so so potentially hundreds of millions of people.

That's a lot of people having an inferior product and lack of choice being forced down their throats.

This is actually step 1
